The Gerling-Reich Award
Through the generosity of the late Dr. Shya Chitaley, the North Coast Fossil Club is proud to sponsor its annual Plant Fossil Competition.
All members are encouraged to participate by bringing their best plant fossils (collected in 2017) to the February, 2018 meeting. Members displaying plant fossil collections will be asked to designate a single plant fossil for the competition.
By a vote of the members present, a first and second place winner will be determined and will be presented the Gerling-Reich Award which is a monetary prize. Only one monetary prize per member will be awarded.
All plant fossils entered in this competition must have been collected during the year 2017 by the member submitting them. No purchased fossils are eligible for this competition.
